THE Battle of Flowers could be in jeopardy next year unless sponsorship for the event can be found.
This year’s parade was saved when CPA Global stepped in as sponsors, but organisers have now expressed concerns that next year’s event could be in trouble unless a new sponsor is found.
And as well as sponsorship worries, Battle officials also fear that cuts could be made next year to the £145,000 annual grant that they receive from the States.
Last August, parade organisers had expressed concern about whether this year’s event would be able to go ahead. However, as a result of a JEP article in the week prior to the 2008 carnival, CPA Global agreed to give £10,000 to last year’s Battle and a further £25,000 this year.
