The Battle of Flowers was just one of the highlights of a month packed with events enjoyed by thousands of Islanders who also made the most of a few glorious summer days.

There was plenty more sombre news around, of course, including the declaration by a senior police foficer that the dig at Haut de la Garenne last year had been ‘a waste of time’.
