FORMER England and Chelsea star Graeme Le Saux will be the only Briton playing in the star-studded Match Against Poverty in Lisbon on Monday.

Jersey’s former international full-back will be lining up with footballing legends Zinédine Zidane, Kaká, Luis Figo, Edgar Davids and Pavel Nedved in the match in support of relief efforts in Haiti.

The match, which is backed by FIFA and UEFA, features a team picked by Zidane and former Brazil striker Ronaldo against a Benfica All-Star side.

Even for Le Saux, who played in a World Cup for England and with football legends Ruud Gullit, Gianfranco Zola and Gianluca Vialli during his time at Chelsea, the line-up is a big one.

‘It’s all right isn’t it?’ he said. ‘I think that I’m just going to make the tea. ‘Needless to say, I have been in training for the last couple of weeks. As soon as I put the phone down I thought, “right, I need to get fit”.’
