FORMER US Open finalist Greg Rusedski will be in the Island next week for the International tennis tournament at Les Ormes.

The 36-year-old former British player, who has this week been cast as a favourite to replace Davis Cup captain John Lloyd, works for the LTA as a talent and performance ambassador.

Tournament organiser Hugh Raymond confirmed Rusedski’s attendance adding that another suggested replacement for Lloyd, Leon Smith, will also be travelling over for the event.

Smith, a former coach of Andy Murray, is the LTA’s head of player development in men’s tennis, and junior Davis Cup captain, and has been earmarked by a number of publications as a possible candidate for the vacant position.
