ISLANDERS are being urged to leave money to local charities in their wills due to a fall in donations.
Law firm Voisin are to hold a charity wills roadshow throughout August to highlight the funding plight of local charities. The first will be at the RNLI station on the Albert Pier on Wednesday 4 August.
The firm’s probate and estates manager, Anne Hembry, said that some were facing dramatic spending cuts while others were suffering due to a decline in legacies.

what about charity starts at home & donate a percentage of your excessive fees.But then will most probably add it on to the nect clients account.

I can assure you lawyers fees are very good value for money especially in this competitive market. Law firms never charge what is on the clock and always take a hit on fees. WIlls are extremely complicated especially when Trusts are involved and takes a highly skilled individual to draft them. People are willing to pay thousands on cars, tvs, holidays but when people want a professional who has spent years training to carry out very complex drafting they expect it for free! I think what Voisin are doing is very commendable , its a shame others have to take such a negative point of view, they obviously do not have a clue what they are talking about.
