REFORM of the ministerial and scrutiny systems could be pushed through this year to
take effect after the October 2011 elections.
Changing the size of ministerial portfolios, giving assistant ministers specific responsibilities and forming new Scrutiny panels for each review are some of the options under consideration.
Changes are being discussed by a group of senior States Members representing different sides of the Chamber to try to reach a consensus that has eluded previous reform efforts.

“Changes are being discussed by a group of ’senior’ States members…what the hell is that…when we vote for our representative we want that person representing us…not the old boys network…who can believe in some of these guys when reform is discussed in the old style ..not openly and with everyone we voted for taking place…we have the disgusting spectre of Terry Le Main being reeled back in after falling over board.as he is mates with the mateys..had that been Stuart or another not in favour member it would have been curtains, a reform that include how we tha voters get rid of them is what is desperately needed..and please spare me the “We already have democracy and can vote them out fakery..cos we can’t or we would of…we know the way it is staggered and stacked to protect the power base..come on democracy ..no less.
