THE Over 40s Trophy continued its ping-pong existence when Guernsey took it back home after defeating Jersey at Grainville last Sunday.

WHAT a great advert for cricket last Saturday’s ICC European Division 2 final between Jersey and Guernsey was. 

FOR some time now there has been a player in the league who despite an unshakeable belief in his own abilities has consistently been unable to show any objective evidence that his outlandish claims were nothing more than grandiose delusional rantings.

AS ever spectators at last week’s inter-insular were treated to a tense finish, and even the normally upbeat pair of Dave Buxton and Stephen Blampied were having doubts as Jersey stuttered toward their target of 119.

IN the past the Inter Insular has always, without doubt, been the climax of the season.

WITH the league season now completed it is, I’m afraid to say, that time of year when that unsightly green slime is, once again, a regular visitor to our shores.

ST OUEN ensured that the league would not be decided until the final week when they scored a surprising victory over the champions last Saturday.

THE climactic finish to the season we were all hoping for no longer looks likely with Fairbairn SCF dropping out of the title race and Rathbone OV’s being so many bonus points behind Romerils it looks a formality for Romerils, as they only need to secure 45 points from their next two games to secure [...]

WITH only three weeks to go OV’s blew the title race open again with a nail biting victory over champions Romerils last Saturday and things could all change again tomorrow as the main protagonists are involved in two very intriguing matches.

TWO big games tomorrow, the most important being Romerils against Rathbones OVs, a game that if Romerils win would mean their title defence is almost complete.
