Leadership is the big issue of the day at conference

Former director-general of the UK Institute of Directors Miles Templeman is chairing the conference
JERSEY needs leadership ‘more than ever in the present climate’, over 200 Island business leaders were told this morning.
They are receiving lessons in leadership from captains of industry, entrepreneurs and a polar explorer at the Jersey International Business School’s leadership forum at the Hotel de France.
The conference, which is sponsored by the Jersey Evening Post, is being chaired by highly experienced businessman and former director-general of the UK Institute of Directors, Miles Templeman, with polar explorer and adventurer Sir Ranulph Fiennes as the star speaker.
At this morning’s opening session, Mr Templeman said: ‘There is no blueprint for leadership but we need leadership more than ever in the present climate and that applies in Jersey as much as it does anywhere else.’

Good for Mr Templeman we need leadership in business but sadly some who did the courses and passed the exams can’t lead. After 37 years you learn to spot a true one and also a fake, and oh dear we do have a lot of fakes about, who sadly for their businesses, don’t know it. So if you think you are a good leader then ask the people who you think don’t like you and just say tell me all, no retributions, no comebacks. If you are a true leader, they will likely as not say, they respect you.
