A COUNTRY house hotel has been awarded four AA stars after owners invested £250,000 in refurbishments and staff training.

The family-run Château La Chaire in Rozel will be able to use the four-star emblem for the first time as a result of the upgrade, which is close to completion.

Manager Mark Collins, who this year celebrates ten years with the hotel, said that the refurbishment of 12 of the14 bedrooms had been completed and the remaining two would be done soon.

‘We are also working on the ground floor with a refurbishment of the bar, lounge and reception area,’ he said.

A lesson for other so called 4 star hotels here. Staff training investment. Not just a refurbishment of bedrooms but investment in staff. Decent staff can pay you dividends. Good luck to Mark and his team.

That is a non-sensical statement, staffing has absolutely nothing to do with what star a hotel is, it is all on facailites.

However good to see that someone is brave enough to invest in Jersey.
