St John
In St John, a former Deputy, Phil Rondel, made a convincing comeback to take the seat vacated by Home Affairs Minister Andrew Lewis. The result was as follows:
Phil Rondel: 678
Patrick Ryan: 396
Spoilt papers: 4
% poll: 56.06
Time declared: 8.51 pm
Phil Rondel (62)
Main concerns
Youth facilities need to be a priority as well as mains drains. Long-term plans for St John’s Village and Sion are necessary. These would be drawn up after meaningful consultation on the needs of St John, achieved through parish assemblies, involving the input of all interested parishioners, resulting in a plan for the long-term future of our parish.
Some measures needed include: traffic calming, more parking, laybys, sheltered housing but no bypass. In the past I have had success in gaining additional bus services. If parishioners would use them, I would once again seek to get these reinstated.
