HERE is a reminder of how sitting States Members, who are Senatorial candidates, voted on some of the major issues over the past three years.

The ban on smoking in all workplaces, including restaurants and bars, was agreed in May 2006, within the first six months of the new States sitting.
For: Senators Routier, Vibert and Ozouf; Deputies Breckon, Troy, Southern, Ferguson and Maclean

Establish a UK-style winter fuel allowance00274007_cropped.jpg
Senator Ben Shenton brought an amendment to the Strategic Plan to set up a UK-style winter fuel allowance, and it was agreed despite the objections of ministers.
For: Deputies Breckon, Southern and Maclean.
Against: Senators Routier, Vibert and Ozouf; and Deputy Troy.
Did not vote: Deputy Ferguson (not present).

Reduce the gay age of consent to 16
In July 2006, the States voted by 38 to 11 to reduce the gay age of consent.
For: Senators Routier, Vibert and Ozouf; Deputies Breckon, Troy, Southern, Ferguson and Maclean.

During the States reforms debate of 2007, the States gave the Constables a vote of confidence by rejecting Deputy Southern’s amendment by 45 votes to four.
For: Deputies Troy and Southern.
Against: Senators Routier and Vibert; Deputies Breckon, Ferguson and Maclean.
Did not vote: Senator Ozouf (ill).

Sell 800 States houses to raise money to renovate the remaining stock
Housing Minister Terry Le Main brought a proposal to the States in July 2007 to sell off 800 States homes over a decade to raise £75m needed to renovate the rest of the housing stock and bring it up to UK standards.
For: Senators Routier, Vibert and Ozouf; Deputies Troy and Maclean.
Against: Deputies Breckon, Southern and Ferguson.

End the ban on bull semen importation0562441_2_cropped.jpg
In July this year the States ended the 220-year ban on bull semen imports, opening up imports from certified pure Jersey bulls from around the world, and the creation of cross-bred beef cattle.
For: Senators Routier and Vibert; Deputies Breckon, Southern and Maclean.
Against: Deputy Ferguson.
Did not vote: Senator Ozouf (declared an interest); Deputy Troy (ill).

The Waterfront deal with developers Harcourt
This June the States voted to approve the Waterfront deal with Harcourt, just before revelations about a lawsuit 0570007_cropped.jpgagainst the firm in Las Vegas and less-than-overwhelmingly-positive reports on their financial capacity.
For: Senators Routier, Vibert and Ozouf; Deputies Troy and Ferguson.
Against: Deputies Breckon and Southern.
Did not vote: Deputy Maclean (not present).

Havre des Pas incinerator
The decisive vote on the new £105m incinerator at Havre des Pas was passed by 30 votes to 21.
For: Senators Routier, Vibert and Ozouf; Deputies Ferguson and Maclean.
Against: Deputies Breckon, Troy and Southern.

The tied vote on GST exemptions for food earlier this month (SEPTEMBER) meant that the proposition was defeated.
For: Senators Routier and Vibert; Deputies Breckon, Troy and Southern.
Against: Senator Ozouf; Deputies Maclean and Ferguson.
A previous vote on the same subject last November was lost by a more decisive margin.
For: Deputy Southern.
Against: Senators Routier, Vibert and Ozouf; Deputies Troy, Ferguson and Maclean.
Did not vote: Deputy Breckon (out of the Island).

Last September the States voted by 35 votes to 15 to dismiss the Health Minister over his attacks on his ministerial colleagues and staff.
For: Senators Routier, Vibert and Ozouf; Deputies Troy, Ferguson and Maclean.
Against: Deputies Breckon and Southern.

Move to stop the sale of the Jersey College for Girls site
In March 2007 Deputy Rob Duhamel led a successful move to stop the sale of the former school to developers for a 00727593_cropped_2.jpgprice that many Members felt was too low.
For: Deputies Breckon and Southern.
Against: Senators Routier, Vibert and Ozouf; Deputy Ferguson.
Did not vote: Deputy Maclean (not present); Deputy Troy (abstained).
