TWO challenging courses await Jersey’s Island Games golf team in the Isle of Wight.

Women's team: Trish Parkin (team manager), Gloria Paradiso, Elaine Pushman, Diane Carter and Frances Shaw

Rotating between Freshwater Bay Golf Club one day, to Shanklin and Sandown GC the next will test players to the max as both courses throw up different problems for the golfers to solve.

For the men the late loss of experienced Gavin O’Neill to injury has been a setback but former Games player, Chris Young, will step into his shoes full of potential having featured in Rhodes 2007.

On the ladies’ team Frances Shaw is the first Les Mielles ladies’ member to feature at the Games and is joined by three experienced team-mates.

Thursday 30 June: Round three. Men: Freshwater; Ladies: Shanklin.
Friday 1 July: Round four at Freshwater. Men: Shanklin; Ladies: Freshwater.
