Working in Jersey
Most overseas nationals coming to work in Jersey need work permits.
British citizens, nationals of the European Economic Area, Commonwealth citizens coming to Jersey for a working holiday and Commonwealth citizens admitted on the grounds of UK ancestry are exempt but must obtain an entry clearance before arriving in Jersey. Non-British citizens are required to have a visa and a work permit to enter Jersey for employment.
Even when a work permit is not required, it can be difficult to find a job. Island employers are required to fill vacancies with local residents or with those who have lived here for at least the past five years.
Those looking for a job or thinking of a career change can find jobs at thisisjersey jobfinder.
