Hi, i have just celebrated my 10th anniversary in Australia and have spent the last 5 years in the Northern Territory. Am living in HOT and HUMID Darwin. I think i would find Jersey too cold now and probably too expensive.

Went to First Tower School and then to Hautlieu in 1956. Worked at the Jersey Gas Company before moving to the UK in 1964. Now living in the Yorkshire Dales.

Left the Island against my will in late 1982 to live in Madeira (mother’s idea, not mine.)Didn’t like it and went to Canada on hols a year after leaving school. Felt out of place there, so returned to Jersey in 1991 to find work with a full-blown recession going on…didn’t work so had to return to Madeira, worked for 5 years, saved up 5 years’ wages, and went to live in Canterbury, East Kent.
I couldn’t find decent work here and got fed up with £3 an hour wages, so got a degree in order to beat the system. Did some conveyancing work and am now permanently, and happily, employed in the civil service.
My daily commute entails a lovely morning walk from Harbledown to Canterbury West Station then a lovely, scenic train ride to the beautiful coastal town of Broadstairs.

Attended Hautlieu, 1965-72. Living in USA since 1978. Since 2008, in Half Moon Bay, Northern California, about 30 min. drive south along the Pacific coast from San Francisco.

Giles and Amanda Rothwell (née Soulsby) living in the Dordogne for the past six years. We run two gites near Brantome and have three children in French school in Perigueux. Don’t miss much about the Island, except maybe the cliff walks and the shellfish lunches and the odd friend or family member! Life in France suits us all, I was in the Island recently and I could not believe how overcrowded it seemed, too busy for us now.

I left St Helier Boys school in 1961. I started work as a apprentice carpet fitter at Langlois in Don Street. I moved to England in 1963. I would like to hear from any old school or work mates as I will be on holiday in Jersey at the end of July 2010. I hope to hear from you.
