MOTOR SPORT: The results of the Jersey Classic and Modern Trials Club trial held at Jubilee at the weekend were as follows: A route, Mac du Feu; B route, Graham du Feu; C route, Jon Poignand; Twin shock, Gary White; Junior A, Adam Le Cheminant; Junior B, Richard Vibert.
n GOLF: The John Tro Greensome Stableford organised by the Jersey Western Golf Club and played at La Moye yesterday was won by Geoff Laffoley (8) and Kevin Penny (18) playing off a combined handicap of nine with 39 points.
BADMINTON: Mariana Agathangelou won her first gold this year plus two bronze medals at the weekend in the High Wycombe under-17 junior challenger select tournament.
She won gold in the ladies’ doubles and reached the semi-finals both of the singles and the mixed doubles.GOLF: The winner of the AC Stableford organised by St Clement’s Golf Club yesterday was Phil Evans (h’cap 5) with 39 points.
He won on countback from George Reid (h’cap 12).
The winner of the over-55 Tanguy Cup was Rab Brogan (h’cap 22) who finished with 38 points.GOLF: The Demi Golf Society’s monthly medal, played at St Clement on Saturday, was Kenny Mitchell (h’cap 11) with a gross 67, nett 56.
Second was Roger de Sousa (h’cap 11) with a gross 69, nett 58.
Third was Joe Straiton (h’cap 10), gross 68, nett 58.CLAY PIGEON: The A-class winner of yesterday’s 50-bird sporting competition organised by the Crabbé Clay Pigeon Club was Mark Andrews with 46 ex 50.
The B-class was shared between Ross Boydens and Laura Deards, 34 ex 50 and the C-class was won by Paul Cragg, 37 ex 50.GOLF: The Mary Ann Trophy held at the Royal Jersey Golf Club yesterday was won by Renzo Martin.GOLF: Patricia Parkin topped Division I of the Les Mielles Golf Club Ladies December Stableford competition played on 30 December with 37 points (h’cap 20).
Second was Sue Evans (h’cap 16) with 35 points and third was Susan Langdon (h’cap 16) with 34.
Margaret Vautier headed Division II with 40 points (h’cap 37).
