Fog disrupts flying
Friday 23rd January 2004, 12:00AM GMT.
THICK fog has brought the Airport to a halt.
With little improvement expected until tonight, all flights are facing lengthy delays. The Met Office say that a small clearance this afternoon may allow some flights to get through, but the fog is not expected to clear totally until at least midnight.
The last British Airways flight into the Island did not make it last night, although it attempted two approaches.
Most passengers bound for London this morning were able to find room on Flybe aircraft, which were already in the Island from yesterday. All passengers have been advised to check in as normal where airlines will give advice and further flight information.Full report in today’s JEP, on sale at 1.15 pm.
