Flights cancelled as severe weather closes UK airports

THE Airport was last night a haven from the severe winter weather that has left England in chaos as major UK airports were closed.
Flights coming north from Algiers, Toulouse and Barcelona were forced to land in the Island and wait until high winds eased off.Normal air traffic to and from the Island was also disrupted with Gatwick and Southampton closed, and some flights also cancelled this morning.Those expecting to travel today are advised to call airlines are check departure and arrival information.
