Chairmen get scrutiny on the move

SHADOW scrutiny panels could be holding public hearings by April.

Senator Ted Vibert and Deputy Jerry Dorey were elected as chairmen of the shadow scrutiny panels by the States on Tuesday and have since met to agree the membership of the panels.

The panels will meet next Wednesday to discuss what subjects they will pursue and to discuss training for the trial run of formal scrutiny panels under ministerial government.

EvidenceWhile the hearings of the panels will be held in public, their meetings and discussions of evidence received will be in private.
