AN urgent review is being carried out on the business plan for the Haut de la Garenne hostel project.

It was announced as Environment and Public Services president Deputy Maurice Dubras came under intense pressure in the States to admit that the project was over budget. He told Members that the building work on the former orphanage in St Martin – which is to become a centre for visiting youth groups, bands and military units – had been completed just under the original budget of £2.564 million.
