Job cuts at agriculture department

TWENTY staff could go from the Economic Development Department as they try to trim £1.7 million from their budget.
Committee president Deputy Gerald Voisin announced proposed cuts from the agricultural section of the department yesterday.
The staff affected have not been publicly identified, but have been told about the proposals.The 20 staff work in the agricultural section of the department, and the job cuts reflect the downturn in the agricultural industry as a whole, and the requirements of the Fundamental Spending Review process.Full report in today’s JEP, on sale at 1.15 pm.
