A HALF-TIME bet at incredible odds during Wednesday’s FA Cup replay when Manchester City were losing 3-0 to Spurs has made Ian Burrows a happy man.
Mr Burrows, who runs Entwhistles in Gorey Village, was consoling best mate and City fan Paul Kelly when his team were three down after 45 minutes.’He was so despondent that I told him they could make a comeback and to prove it I would bet a fiver on them,’ Mr Burrows said.
Even when he learnt from the UK bookies that the odds were 230-1 he still placed the bet.He and his mate watched in nail-biting disbelief as City scored four goals in the second half – the final one in the 91st minute guaranteeing a £1,150 payout.
