Drugs minder gets 11 years

A MAN was jailed for 11 years by the Royal Court yesterday for possessing £152,000 worth of ecstasy with intent to supply.
It was the Island’s largest seizure of the drug.
Ben Vipond (26) admitted the charge relating to 15,212 tablets hidden under a bed at the Merton Hotel last May.He was told by the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, that he had been involved with a large amount of what the Crown described as a hallucinogenic stimulant which could have unfortunate and sometimes fatal effects.’There was a substantial potential for harm which was almost immeasurable,’ Sir Philip said.
