Get set for big taxation changes

RADICAL new proposals for a new tax system which will affect every Islander will be unveiled on Monday morning.

States Members were briefed on them yesterday by Finance and Economics and a series of public meetings will be held, starting next week, as part of a consultation period which will run until April.Of 52 Members 40 attended the presentation – one of the most important and far-reaching in recent political history.Finance hope to lodge their final recommendations with the States in May to be debated in July.
