Homes advice ‘was wrong’

PLANNING Committee members who defied a States vote to approve a 76-home estate in St Clement have been given the wrong legal advice, a Deputy has claimed.
Deputy Gerard Baudains claims that developer Alpine estates would have no case to sue the States if the number of homes was slashed from 79 to 45.The committee decided at an emergency meeting on Wednesday night that the plans proposed by Alpine Estates for three fields off Jambart Lane were within guidelines.They also warned that refusing the plans could leave the States facing a potentially costly legal battle, which it would probably lose.
