Paymaster General welcomes IMF report

THE UK Paymaster General, Dawn Primarolo, has welcomed the recent International Monetary Fund report on the Island’s financial services regime.
In a letter to the president of the Policy and Resources Committee, Senator Frank Walker, Ms Primarolo says she was pleased to see the IMF’s conclusions that Jersey complies well with international standards and says this represents ‘a considerable achievement’.
he letter continues: ‘I welcome your commitment to make further improvements.
I have no doubt that the IMF’s assessment, along with your co-operation on the EU tax package and the OECD harmful tax practices initiative, will lead to an increasingly positive view of the Island as a responsible and co-operative jurisdiction.
