Ex-dairy farming family pitch golf course idea

Thursday 26th February 2004, 12:00AM GMT.

A FORMER St Martin dairy farming family are considering transforming their land into an 18-hole golf course.

Lester, Colin and Mervyn Richardson, who quit the industry in May 2002, are considering alternative uses for Northlyn Farm, Rue du Clos Fallu.

However, Lester Richardson said the future was far from decided at this stage.’We have not got any plans.

It is still very early days and we’ve got a lot of people to talk to,’ he said.

However, he did say discussions had taken place with Planning, neighbouring landowners, with the Island’s golfing interests and Jersey Tourism.’We’re doing it simply because of the way the agricultural industry is going at the moment,’ he said.
