Reef break for beach babe Jade

Wednesday 7th July 2004, 12:00AM BST.

JERSEY girl Jade Archibald has been selected as a contestant in the Miss Reef UK contest and will battle it out with 19 others for the title in Newquay next weekend.

Jade (26) is really excited at the prospect, as the girl who wins can look forward to a two-week holiday for two in Brazil, modelling contracts, a professional photoshoot and a year’s supply of Reef footwear.

And by coincidence, Jade works in a café named Reef in Green Street run by her mum, Jennifer Lamy.

The Reef footwear brand was created in Brazil 20 years ago by two brothers with a passion for surfing and the company is now world-famous for its beach sandals.

Last year the Miss Reef competition came to the UK for the first time so that a British representative could be chosen to promote the surfing lifestyle.
