UK drugs baron is sent to jail
Wednesday 7th July 2004, 12:00AM BST.
SELF-CONFESSED drugs ‘baron’ Mark Disbury (39), who imported more than £45,000 worth of heroin and cocaine on what would have been the first of many trips, was jailed yesterday for nine years.
The Royal Court heard that Londoner Disbury, whose stepmother had a ‘Faginesque’ hold over him in his early life, had involved minors in the drugs run in November.
Disbury was due to share the profits made on that run with an associate in the UK.
Sentenced with him, after being convicted of being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine, were addicts Jason Bayliss (29) and Elisa Presume (22).
Their parents wept in the back of the court as they listened to the submissions.
Bayliss was sentenced to three years in prison and Presume was placed on probation on condition that she carries out 240 hours of community service and complies with treatment orders.
