Flight drama
Friday 23rd July 2004, 12:00AM BST.
PART of a propeller smashed through the window of an Aurigny Trislander this morning on its way to Jersey.
A 25-year-old man suffered a major hand injury as glass flew down the cabin after a piece of the aircraft’s de-icing boot broke free seconds after take-off from Guernsey.
The accident took place around 7.40 am at about 500 feet and the three-engined plane, with 12 people on board, immediately returned to Guernsey Airport.
Two men were taken to the Princess Elizabeth Hospital and six passengers continued to Jersey on the next Aurigny flight.
