Lieut-Bailiff proud to maintain family duty

JURAT Sally Le Brocq was sworn in as a Lieut-Bailiff yesterday before a Royal Court that was filled to capacity.

Beneath a portrait of her late father and former Bailiff, Cecil Harrison, Jurat Le Brocq took the ancient oath before family, friends and a full and ceremonial sitting of the court.

After delivering the oath, the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, said that he had no doubt that Jurat Le Brocq would cope with her ‘customary skill and charm’.

Also present were the Deputy Bailiff, Michael Birt, the former Bailiff, Sir Peter Crill, present and former Jurats as well as Solicitor General Stéphanie Nicolle, Assistant Magistrate Ian Christmas, Deputy Viscount Peter de Gruchy and many advocates.
