Abbey’s offshore arm relaunches with a new name

THE offshore arm of Abbey National, which is based in Jersey, has relaunched as Abbey International.
The move follows the bank’s parent company, which rebranded itself as Abbey last September.
The name change is being accompanied by a new plain-speaking brochure, a new website, a new advertising theme and a new guide to offshore banking which also covers such issues as employment, housing, health and education.
Abbey International’s managing director, David Siddall, said: ‘Our research shows that up to three million people in the UK will become an expatriate at some point in their lives, and they have a lot to sort out when they move abroad, including their banking.
