Man dragged from flat fire remains critical

A MAN was in still in a critical condition in a UK hospital today after being dragged from his burning bedroom early on Sunday morning.
Alan Wright (20) suffered between 40 and 50 per cent burns to his hands, stomach chest and face when flames ripped through his flat in Lord Coutanche Court, Seaton Place.
He was airlifted to a special burns unit at Broomfield hospital, in Essex, on Sunday, where his father, also called Alan (53), and family members are now at his bedside where his condition was said today to be critical but stable.
The father and son, who own the chimney lining business, Alan An Alan, were two of six people staying in the flat on Saturday night.
Michelle Boreham was staying for the weekend and sleeping in the living room with three children aged 9, 12 and 13.
A Fire Service spokesman said the six were ‘minutes’ away from tragedy.
