Tourism pin hopes on spring garden festival
Saturday 2nd April 2005, 12:00AM BST.
JERSEY Tourism are hoping that the Spring Garden Festival that starts today will manage to entice the tourists and kick-start the season.
Development manager Donna Le Marrec says that it is difficult to estimate exactly how many guests the event has attracted because many buy their tickets once they arrive.
‘It will be a week jam-packed with activities,’ she said.
‘Our target audience are 44-year-old couples or older, and although gardening and the natural environment are niche market, it is something our questionnaires have shown they want to do.
‘It’s a shoulder month and we are hoping that it will pave the way for a successful June, July and August,’ she added.
