Two States Members honoured by French

TWO States Members have been honoured by the French government for their contribution to the use of the French language.

Senator Jean Le Maistre and the Constable of St Ouen, Ken Vibert, were given awards of L’Ordre de la Pléad by the head of the worldwide Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonie.

Both States Members were congratulated by Senator Jacques Legendre, the Parliamentary Secretary General of the Assemblée for their services to the French language.

Senator Le Maistre was awarded the Commandeur award, the second highest in the order, and Mr Vibert was awarded the Chevalier award.

The highest order of L’Ordre de la Pléad is only ever awarded to heads of State.
