Pukka potatoes!
Thursday 7th April 2005, 12:00AM BST.
MAN of the moment Jamie Oliver is in the Island to give Jersey Royals the pukka seal of approval.
The naked chef and champion of healthy school dinners will give megastar endorsement to Island spuds in a national TV ad campaign.
This morning he was on the cāštils of Gorey for the second of three days’ filming in the Island for Sainsbury’s supermarket.
Yesterday, filming took place at Anne Perchard’s St Martin farm, where the front garden and kitchen were transformed into a film set.
It is understood that the many hours of footage will be whittled down to two adverts: one a straight, 40-second commercial including many shots of the Island and the other with Jamie offering a recipe to get the most out of Royals.
