Men of the trees branch out with a new home in St Ouen

Thursday 14th April 2005, 12:00AM BST.

THE Jersey Association of the Men of the Trees have found a new home in St Ouen.

Having last week quit their home in Grouville, the association are now based at the Frances Le Sueur Centre in La Mielle de Morville in St Ouen’s Bay.

Association chairman Susie Robins said: ‘We are very grateful to have been offered such fine accommodation at a site which everybody recognises as being a centre for environmental work.’ Until last summer the centre was the base of the former Environmental Services Unit, who are now part of the Environment Department at Howard Davis Farm.

The centre is still used by the department for meetings and educational purposes.

The Men of the Trees, who also hope to use the meeting rooms, have moved into the centre’s office accommodation.

They also have a central equipment store at Adelina Wood at Mont à l’Abbé, the community woodland opened in December 2004.
