Public to vote for local bands at Jersey Live
Thursday 21st April 2005, 12:00AM BST.
VOTING is under way to decide which local bands will battle it out for a place on stage at this year’s Jersey Live Festival.
Razorlight and the Thrills headlined the event which attracted an estimated 5,000 people last year, and both went on record as saying it was their favourite gig of the summer.
They were backed up on stage by a host of Jersey bands.
Organiser Warren Le Sueur has yet to name the headliners for this year – but he believes jaws will be dropping when the announcement is finally made.
He said: ‘We have verbally confirmed the main band for this year and I’m dying to tell you who it is, but I’m staying tight-lipped for the moment.
‘But we think when we announce our line-up we’ll have people booking to come from the UK and France.
Last year Razorlight said we were their best event of the summer, which was flattering, and we’re fast getting dubbed one of the coolest festivals in the UK.’
