Portholme:Wanderers gain advantage

JERSEY Wanderers beat St Paul’s 2-0 at Les Quennevais last night as the two Jersey clubs opened their accounts in the annual under-18 inter-insular competition for the Portholme Trophy.
Wanderers, whose goals were a penalty by Stevie Reid and an own goal, and St Paul’s are now away to Guernsey’s Belgraves and Rangers this weekend to complete the round-robin group of matches.
Bels defeated Rangers 5-1, Ross Allen scored four, to win the all-Guernsey encounter.
Matches in Guernsey are, Saturday: Rangers v Wanderers (6.30 pm, The Track); Bels v St Paul’s (6 pm, St Peter’s).
Sunday: Rangers v St Paul’s (9.30 am, St Peter’s); Bels v Wanderers (10.30 am, The Track).
