Relay for Life is ready to roll
Wednesday 22nd June 2005, 12:00AM BST.
ALL the team places for the Relay for Life, in aid of cancer research, have been taken.
As the event approaches, the Royal Bank of Canada have pledged to sponsor it for another three years and invested an increased amount in the venture.
Last year, over £50,000 was raised by the event.
Thirty teams of between ten and 30 entrants of all ages will camp overnight at the FB Fields as their members take it in turns to walk around the stadium during the 24-hour event.
To mark the start, people with cancer or in recovery will be asked to walk a lap of honour around the track, an invitation taken up last year by more than 100 participants.
The relay will start at noon on Saturday 2 July and continue until the same time next day.
