Support for Deli House in St Aubin
Friday 2nd September 2005, 12:00AM BST.
St Brelade Deputy Sarah Ferguson has expressed support for Le Village Deli House’s application to extend their opening hours.
She said: ‘I have spoken to both parties involved, proprietor Fran Davoine and her neighbours.
I am very much in favour of encouraging local businesses, and being the parish Deputy, I like to patronize them all.
‘It must be taken into account that it is a residential area, so a certain amount of compromise is required.’ The application is to extend the St Aubin restaurant’s opening hours from 8pm to 1.30am.
A petition and numerous letters of support have been forwarded to the Planning department in support of the application.
Deputy Ferguson added: ‘I very much hope a compromise can be reached where residents in the local area can be protected, but the business can keep going.
The deli does a lot of good for the area and I await the outcome from Planning.’
