Saints bounce back from early setback
Tuesday 6th September 2005, 12:00AM BST.
THERE were Zenith Trust Cup group B match victories for St Peter and Jersey Wanderers on Sunday morning.
First Tower also took the points in Group A, when hosts Grouville scratched.
St Peter Ladies recorded a 6-2 home victory over St Brelade, despite once again conceding an early goal.
The hosts responded to the early set-back to lead 4-2 at the break with goals from Lisa Godinho, Sarah Williams (two) and Jo Fuller.
Both teams battled well in the hot conditions, but St Peter’s pressure paid off in the second half when Susan Stewart stretched the lead.
Fuller rattled in her second from the penalty spot five minutes from time.
The St Brelade goals came from Uschi Neubert, who calmly fired home following a great through ball from Sophie Taylor, and Hannah Taylor.
A solitary goal from Kathryn Porter was enough to give Wanderers victory over St Clement at the Hockey club.
