Wanderers just squeeze home

THE Lloyds TSB Junior League Under-14s started their campaign on Thursday evening, with the matches either being extremely close or very one-sided.

Jersey Wanderers won a seven-goal thriller 4-3 against visiting St Paul’s.

The host’s goals came from Bradley Rimeur, Charlie Payne, Johnny Hickling and Daniel McAvennie, with Saints scorers being Daniel Tardivel (two) and Daniel McCormack.

It was tighter still at St Brelade, with the hosts drawing 4-4 with St Clement.

Stephen de Ste Croix (two), Jason Miller and Daniel Grindheim were on target for the home team.

It was altogether more straightforward for First Tower who recorded a 7-0 away victory over Rozel, with goals from Alex Carpenter, Josh Davey, Killian Dorey (two), William Lennox, Curtis Guthrie and Andrew Rabet.

St Ouen fared even worse when they hosted Trinity, going down 10-0, with Rueben Pestana leading the way with a hat-trick.

Trinity’s other goals came from William McGee (two), Adrian Hughes (two), Began Ferrand, Jordan Shea and Sam Dutson.

St Peter enjoyed a 5-2 home win over Grouville.

Josh Coudrais hit a treble, with Scott Welsh and Joe Parkinson getting the hosts others.

Grouville’s scorers were Josh Warden and Ben Griffin.
