Waterfront: Workshops to inform the public

Friday 9th September 2005, 12:00AM BST.

ISLANDERS will have their say on where the waterfront should go from here at a series of public workshops.

Meetings similar to the one held on Wednesday for an invited group of participants will be open to everyone at the end of this month.

Organised by Policy and Resources, they will take the form of group discussions and question and answer sessions, and will include presentations by department chief executive Bill Ogley and Waterfront Enterprise Board managing director David Margason.

Provisional dates have been set for the afternoon of 29 September and the following morning, 30 September.

P & R say they want to hold the workshops after this week’s meeting identified a failure to communicate with the public on the plans for the waterfront.

Department chief executive Bill Ogley said he wanted Castle Quay architect Eric Kuhne to be at the public workshops to talk about his vision for the site.
