MURATTI men Dave Le Roux and Jimmy Reilly fired Trinity into the second round of the Guernsey FA’s Jeremie Cup on Saturday.

As expected, the men in green beat Rangers, 2-0 in Guernsey.

Scott Quarrell hit a hat-trick as St Ouen slammed Jersey Nomads out of the WJ Collins Memorial Trophy at the second round stage.

Saints won 5-0 with Rob Moore and Andy de Carteret also on target.

Portuguese Club, reduced to ten men after ten minutes when a defender was sent off for handball, crashed out of the Collins at the first round stage, 6-3 away to Guernsey Belgrave.

Marc McGrath scored a hat-trick for the Sarnians.

Coca-Cola Combination champions Jersey Scottish are in their accustomed postition at the top of Division I following their 2-1 victory over First Tower at La Hague.

Island player Gordon Brodie and Bradley Cook were on target for the Scots, with Bradley Russell scoring for the home side.

Jersey Wanderers got another unwelcome indication of just how tough clinging on to Division I status could be this term with an 8-0 drubbing at home to St Peter.

St Peter coach Jon Trigg, however, will probably be delighted that the victory produced eight different scorers: Ryan Durrand, Stuart Cameron, Leigh A’Court, Chris Hamon, Peter Vincenti, Marco Vieira, Dominic Maher and Lucas Parker Goals from youngsters Ben Gallichan and Michael Perreira twice gave Sporting Academics the lead against visiting St John, but a double from Stuart Daynes and a single from Tommy Graham gave the northerners the points in Division II.

St Clement were held 2-2 at home by Beeches Old Boys, with James Walton and Matt Scriven scoring for the hosts.

Andy McKnight and Hamlyn Moon earned the Old Boys a point.

St Martin/SCF and St Lawrence also drew 2-2 with Paul Morin and a Tom Gibb penalty giving St Lawrence their point.

In the Dog Club Trophy preliminary round a Richard Russell goal was enough to give Grouville Reserves victory over Rozel Rovers Reserves.

Portuguese Club Res crashed out 9-0 to a rampant St Peter outfit, with Ryan Le Cornu (two), Mark Nicol (two), Lee Turner, Colin Wood, Mike Reed and Roley McMichael (two) doing the damage.

Trinity Res managed one more in disposing of St Brelade Reserves 10-2 at home.

John Rutter led the way with four, with Brian Nicolle (two), Barry Beatson (two), Tom Titshall and Lee Blance also on target.

St Brelade’s consolations were from Neil Hacquoil and Andy Battrick.

In Division C Grouville are the early leaders after their third league victory, 2-1 at home to Jersey Wanderers.

Jason Byrne and Liam Kelly scored for Grouville, who also provided Wanderers with their consolation goal.

St Ouen have also started well, with their 3-1 victory away to St Clement pushing them into second spot.

Alex Reid scored for the hosts.

Ged Horgan scored all four of Sporting Accies goals against St Lawrence – but still ended up a loser.

A hat-trick from Chris Swanton, added to a double from Jon Hanby, gave Saints the points in a 5-4 victory.
