Election hopefuls to meet the voters
Friday 16th September 2005, 12:00AM BST.
SENATORIAL candidates are to hold an open meeting at Fort Regent to meet voters and discuss their policies.
All 15 candidates will be invited to the Gloucester Hall event on 8 October to sit at tables and meet voters who want to question them in depth.
The meeting will accompany the usual hustings tour of the parishes, and has been organised by Senator Stuart Syvret, and the Education, Sport and Culture Committee who run Fort Regent.
Senator Syvret said the meeting would take place on Saturday 8 October, and would run from 10 am to 4.30 pm, and allow candidates to sit at tables dotted around the hall so voters could speak to the various Senatorial hopefuls.
He added that he thought all the candidates would attend the meeting, and that none of them had objected to the idea.
