French cancel wind farm project

THE Ecréhous wind farm project is off.
The French government have decided to build a wind farm in the Seine estuary, and have stepped away from proposals for a wind farm just off the Ecréhous reef off the coast of St Martin.
French Minister for Industry Franā¸šois Loos, who is responsible for energy issues, has decided that only one wind farm should be built and has opted for a site seven kilometres off Le Havre in the Seine estuary.
Policy and Resources Committee president Senator Frank Walker, who is in charge of international relations for the Island and who has agreed to keep the public posted on wind farm developments, said the news was good for Jersey.
