SHOOTING:The Jersey Rifle Association won their annual match against the Royal Air Force Target Rifle Club at Crabbé Range yesterday by 11 points.
Victoria College student Robert Jelley was top scorer with 150.17, closely followed by Chris Cotillard on 150.16.
David Calvert was best for the visitors with 150.22.
The RAF won the vets match by four points while the JRA came out on top by 21 points in the reserves match.
In the Prize Shoot on Saturday Chris Fitzpatrick top scored with 104.12.
The top Jersey man was Chris Cotillard with 103.09.
CYCLING: Caesarean CC’s Mike Harris won the Vélo Sport road race at Les Platons yesterday with Anthony Chandler second and Alan Miller third.

WHIPPET RACING: Steve Lawson’s Coyote has become only the fourth dog to win the Presidents Trophy in consecutive years since the trophy was instituted 30 years ago.
He did it in cracking style at Les Landes, just beating his sister Capuccina into second place over 220 yards, with David Lawson’s Cadbury third and Jenny Thomas’ Jetstream fourth to take the most highly-placed veteran rosette.
Coyote’s mother Cameo won the trophy in 1999, and his grandmother Lark is the only competitor ever to have won it in three consecutive years.

GOLF: Richard Ramskill won Royal Jersey’s JW Messervy Salver with a two-round total of 139.
Gavin O’Neill was second on 142 and Paul Le Chevalier third on 143.
BOWLS: Cyril Renouf captured the Jersey Bowling Club men’s singles title with a 21-17 victory over Jamie MacDonald.
Jean Lowery won the ladies title when she beat Lindsey Greechan 21-14.
SHOOTING: Three shooters tied for the High Gun title in the Crabbé Clay Pigeon Club’s 50-bird sporting shoot yesterday.
Andrew Woodward, David Drummond and Graham Le Cornu all scored 45 ex 50 which meant that Drummond and Le Cornu tied for Class A and Woodward won Class B.
Robert Wilson won Class C with 43 ex 50 which means he now moves up to Class B.
SHOOTING: Matthew Peach won the Modern and Military Arms Association’s Service A competition for the M Cardy Trophy on Saturday.
The Service B competition for the Trooper Trophy was won by Bob Blake.
CROQUET: Jersey’s Matthew Burrow won the Plate event at the European Croquet Championships on his home lawn at Les Quennevais.
Stephen Mulliner of England beat Ireland’s Paddy Fitzgerald in straight games in the final, +14 TP, + 26 TP.
Fifteen countries were represented at the tournament – and three more admitted at the European Croquet Federation’s agm which was held during the championships.
MOTOCROSS: Jersey won both the adult and junior motocross inter-insular competitions at Sorel Point yesterday.
Lee Le Viellez won the Certain Trophy for most points in the 65 cc class with Charley Mills second and Michael Veloso third.
