GOLF:Robbie Messervy is the Royal Jersey club champion.
He took the title with a two-round total of 136 on Saturday.
Christy McLaughlin was second on 139 with James Birch third, also on 139.
MOTORSPORT: Mac du Feu won the A Route contest in the Jersey Classic and Modern Trials Club trial at Egypt yesterday.
Graham du Feu took the B Route and Andy Bellee the C Route.
The Junior A was won by Adam Le Cheminant and Junior C by Christopher Vibert.
SHOOTING: John de la Haye was High Gun and Class A winner with a score of 28 ex 30 at the Crabbé Clay Pigeon Club’s 30-bird sporting shoot.
Wayne Shales took Class B with 26 ex 30 and Graham and Charles Edwards shared Class C with 23 ex 30.
GOLF: Justin Daws won La Moye GC’s Tuesday Evening League final with 42 points off his 11 handicap.
Willie Shanks was second with 41 off 12 and Paul Davies third on 40 off 24.
HOCKEY: OV Veterans beat Victoria College 2nd XI 4-2 at Claremont Field on Saturday.
BOWLS: With five wins out of five the team of Stuart Weaving, Dorothy Weaving and Doreen MacAllister won St Saviour’s BC’s Autumn Cup.
Five teams were tied on six points with three wins but Vernon Pallot, Harry Baudains and Anne Blake took second spot on shots difference.
Bunny Derrien, Les Quenault and Elizabeth Collings were third, Peter and Denize Le Corré, and George Hatton fourth and Dennis Crowell, Marcel Houzé and Helen Godfray fifth.
HOBIES: Darren Stower and Mike Winspear won the Hobie 16 title at this year’s CI Hobie Cat championships in St Aubin’s Bay – pushing Gordon Burgis and Kenny Snell, chasing their eighth title, into second place.
The Hobie 16 B Fleet was won by Perry Stone and Mike Winspear while Mike Doleman and Damian James took two class titles – the Hobie Tiger and the Open.
Laura Jane Carter and Thomas Harris won the Hobie Dragoons Junior class.
BOWLS: David Chilton, Pat Lyons and Margaret du Feu, skipped by Peter Gray, beat 15 other teams to win the St Saviour’s BC Closing Day tournament with 25 shots yesterday.
The runners-up on 23 shots were Peter Holt (skip), Ivy Simon, George Hatton and Madeline Gouedart.
GOLF: Richard Ramskill won the La Moye club championship yesterday when he beat Bob Wickings 4 & 2.
Ramskill won the ninth to go one up at the turn and extended his lead with an eagle 3 at the 11th only for Wickings to pull one back with a 35 ft birdie putt at the next hole.
But Ramskill shot two further birdies as he went four under par on the last seven holes.
In the other finals yesterday Barry Querée beat Harvey Prince to win the Clarke Seniors 3 & 2 while Paul Mee and Brian Screen won the RJ Beer four-ball betterball competition.
HOCKEY: Jersey won a goal-packed U15 boys hockey inter-insular at Les Quennevais on Saturday, Guernsey going down 9-3 in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
