A WOMAN who spoke out publicly to warn others about the dangers of date rape drugs was barred from entering the nightclub where she says her drink was spiked.

Amy Pallett claims she was told last Friday that she had caused too much trouble for Liquid already after claiming that she had been targeted there by drink spikers on 26 August.

‘They made me feel like I was the criminal, not the victim,’ the 21-year-old student said.

In a statement released today, Luminar, the UK-based company which owns the waterfront nightclub, said that they had refused Miss Pallett entry for her own good.

A spokeswoman said: ‘After this allegation had been made to police and was reported in the local press, the police and management decided that despite the fact that this young lady wished to visit the venue the week immediately after this alleged incident had taken place, she should not be admitted for her own protection.

‘The management are treating this allegation with extreme seriousness.

The venue has a clearly defined drugs policy and will not tolerate drug contamination.

The safety of our customers is paramount.

‘We have spoken to her father, are working with the relevant authorities, the police and the licensing officer and are continuing to establish the facts surrounding this allegation.’ Luminar’s comments have outraged Miss Pallett and her father, Steve, who claim that she has never been told to stay away from the club by detectives or by Luminar.

That was confirmed by the States police today, who said that no such warning had been issued by the investigating officer to Miss Pallett or the club.
