Le Cornu hits U18 hat-trick

ST PETER striker Ryan Le Cornu hit a hat-trick against his club colleagues last night as a JFA under-18 XI defeated St Peter Reserves at Les Quennevais.

Dave Walsh’s side won 6-2 with St Paul’s Craig Russell adding a brace with under-16 Jersey Scottish and Celtic triallist Jack Boyle getting the other.

Walsh is putting a side together as Jersey embark on their FA County Youth Cup campaign later this month against Surrey or Devon.

Walsh said: ‘It was our first game together and overall I was happy.

There are still lots of things to work on but generally we moved the ball around well.

‘It was disappointing to lose two goals; they were both down to lapses of concentration.

Our approach work was good, we passed the ball with speed resulting in some good team goals.’ On target for St Peter were Lee Turner and Darren A’Court.
